I’m beginning a vow of silence as of November 4. It’s mostly to help me understand how LGBTQ people feel when they honestly can’t confide in anyone that they’re gay. Before I do this though I’m coming out to my school so they know why I’m doing this vow. So far I’m getting a lot of support even though I haven’t told that many people yet. However, I know there will be plenty of people hoping I will fail. My vow should last from Nov. 4 until at least April 18 (glsen’s national day of silence) but I’m going to try to go for a year. I’m not quite sure how I’m going to pull it off though??? Has anyone ever done anything like this before? Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, the people who I have told also are talking about possibly planning a walk-out in support of me. It’s crazy how many people are on my side. I really think I have something here. So what do you think???
